Cross-Functional #160: Can you teach principles?
In this issue we take a look at designing modern teams, roadmaps with timelines, method for showing the value of good UX and much more

The Weekly Summary
John Cutler gave a talk earlier in the year and one of his slides stated "You can't teach principles. But you can practice and express the skills that express these principles".
I'm in two minds on this because I see a huge amount of value in teaching principles. I think it is one of the best ways that leaders can safely delegate decisions with confidence.
On the other hand, when people talk about cultural change I firmly believe that you need to change KPIs to drive the behavioural changes that you want.
We have some links this week regarding design principles. But I'd love to know your thoughts. Can you teach principles or do you focus on KPIs and skills?
